Guitly Pleasure

Are you watching Southern Belles on Soapnet? I LOVE it - very Hills-ish in a seemingly scripted way, but so much better! I would love to discuss if other of you ladies want to. I'm watching last night's episode and can't believe Shea!

Dream Shoe of The Day

Betsy.

Happy Friday!

How has your week been? I've had a very good day so far: the private school where I've been subbing in the afternoons had an opening come up for an every day 4-6 pm position with the kindergarteners, and I got the teachers' recommendations to get it! So now I officially am "working two jobs," starting Monday.

While I love my job at BBCC, these days the mood is somewhat morbid, waiting for the government to decide what we're going to do, and everyone here is fairly stressed out. For me, going to the school and being with the kids just makes the stress disappear. It has been such a blessing to get to go there the two or three days a week that I've been subbing for the past month, and I can't wait to be there every day.

Have a good day everyone - the 2nd installment of dating history will be up today, too!

Dream Shoe of The Day

Manolo.

First there was a boy . .

I didn't have junior high boyfriends, like many of my friends. Being a slightly overweight, conservative, nerdy girl who some how managed to be besties with all the cheerleaders didn't get me a whole lot of guy attention. When I entered high school, I became very active in the music department (Random fact: I have studied oboe classically from age 9 to 18, and got accepted into a prestigious music conservatory high school, that I choose not to go to). I met #1 there. He was a sensitive, artistic musician, extremely tall - 6'6" - and extremely possesive. He was my first boyfriend, and we "dated" from the time I was 14 until right before the start of my senior in high school, when he started college. Dated meaning walked to classes together, passed notes, and talked on the phone - no "car dating" until I turned 17. It was as tumulutous, as young romances can be. He became very jealous, and very controlling - not good. He also bagn talking about wanting to get married, while I was in high school. Then right before school started that last year of high school I met someone else . . .

Good Morning!

It's 5:05, and I've already been at work for about an hour. It's one of those days that I know is going to be loooong: work at BBCC until 1:00, sub at the priavte school from 2:00 - 6:00. Mister is working 2nd shift for the next month, so that adds a whole new level of difficulty to things (For those not used to the world of multiple-shift manufacturing, second shift is 2:30 - 11:30 at night).

However, I have quite a few things planned to share with you all. Inspired by Lisa at Like A Valentine (genuis blog. Love her. Follow now, if you don't already), I'm going to start a review of dating history, from the beginning to Mister. Not only do I think it will be fun, but it will help me to be able to more easily share stories with you all in the future - I had a double-ex run-in on Monday, and knew it would too hard to explain, regardless of the akward hillarity that ensured - so I'll begin later today.

Have a Happy Wednesday!

Dream Shoe of the Day

I used to do dream room of the day, but I found myself struggling to find inspiring, unique, preppy designs, so I thought I'd try a new "of the day" feature that I think I'll always have inspiration for: shoes!

We'll start with these stunners:

Yes, that is pink sequins. From mr MB, who else?

Recommendations, Ladies!

I am in the market for a new perfume. I've been wearing Diorissimo for ages, but it is discontinued, and the "black market" prices are beginning to be ridiculous. What are your favorites?

A New Start

I'm finishing some homework at the library - I have two motor control classes this summer semester- and afterwards will begin the first step down a new road: my first visit to an organix co-op grocercy. We are sadly without WholeFoods in my neck of the woods, by the local Bloomingfoods will substitute.

What new beginning does this symbolize? A commitment to eating better, and hopefully to better health. Not to being skinny . . .but to being better to my body. I have struggled with weight my entire life, and have twice been able to lose a moderate amount off my frame - going as low as a size 8 on a frame that typically hovers around a 14. (There. I said it. Out loud-ish). However, any other endeavors to be "better" to myself involved very unhealthy habits - I won't go into details, but one ended up with me very, very, sick and in the hospital for dehydration-caused kidney problems. This time will be different. Organic food, real meals, and exercise. I plan to start Monday updates for you all, both to motivate me, and to hold me accountable.

Wish me luck!

Happy Memorial Day!

It's pouring the rain, so our cook-out is very quickly becoming a cook-in. Mister and I are heading out to at see the Star Trek Movie and then I am tutoring 6:00. Have good day everyone, and hug a veteren if you know one.

I've been trying to get ready to meet with the doctoral committee for my first formal meeting, my coursework prescription, all while working not only at aforemention big, broke car company (which I may begin to refer to as BBCC, and working evening at local private school. I have a few pics to share with you today!I just got in it the mail yesterday - my new king crab VV tote! Such a great bag!! Thank, Grandma, for the birthday present!

VV Totes

They've added tons of schools! I may very well be getting this one:

I'm Back

I know . . . a long time, no post. Life just got too crazy. I have a quick update on things:

- wedding and honeymoon, as well as married are good. Still waiting on the "different feeling" everyone says you have once you're married

- I have my last final tonight, and then I'll have a Master's Degree! I start classes for my PhD on the 11th

- Remember how I was supposed to lose my job April 30th? They fired my boss, and asked me to stay, and still be part time (to go to school). So all that worry . . . was for nothing. Damn corporate america.

How have you all been?
